I haven't had time to watch a single new Torchwood episode yet. I guess that means a Torchwood marathon is in my future. Yay! I am slowly but surely watching Chuck, though. I've only got three episodes left now. And OK, now I kind of love it. Even if it's not a show I feel fannish about. I don't need to know anything more other than the episodes. Also, I do feel this is the kind of show that would benefit from having a definite end, and soon. I understand it's been renewed for another 13 eps, right? I kind of hope they'll wrap it up at that, because Chuck's predicament can't really go on much longer, without turning the whole thing into a true tragedy. The amount of lying he does and the way he keeps disappointing and betraying (in a way) his sister and best friend is starting to get a bit much. Something's got to give, to help Chuck stay a loveable, funny show. Something EXTREMELY irritating: Jensen is one of EW's Sci Fi hotties (which is lovely, not to mention that's my favourite photo of him. So pretty. And you can vote for him. Vote!). But then they refer to that so very obviously VERY FAKE twitter and I want to kick them. My god! I feel so sorry for all the unsuspecting fans who think it's so great to be able to send messages to Jensen & Jared. When it's just some completely delusional, evil fan doing it. Can't someone shut them down? PLEASE. It really shouldn't be allowed. And now that even EW thinks it's real... Jeez. ( And now ... the snuggly. Bwahaha! )And then I need to rec this wonderful, wonderful story by setissma called Gunshy. It's J2 AU, in a Bones-like setting. And it's beautifully high-paced, witty and lovely. You should also read bauble's It's a Love Story which is about Sam & Dean, in a world where everything is the same, except there are no supernatural beings causing their problems. It's just life. And it's so, so good. Even though it's actually gen. :) Oh, and all the major Swedish newspapers are boycotting Britney Spears' concerts here, because of the contract they're obliged to sign, where you, among other things, agree to not pass on any information you might hear about her health or her 'philosophical, spiritual or other beliefs'. It's the same in every country she visits, apparently, but only Swedish and Danish papers are protesting. And boy, am I glad they are. Who the hell does she think she is? Insane and paranoid, that's what she is. Tags: jensen, recs, tv

Here's what I have to say today: - David Hewlett writing a tv remake of Midnight Run (with a sci fi twist)? Eeeep! I absolutely LOVE that movie. My brother and I used to watch that repeatedly, back in the day. I haven't seen it in forever, now, but now I want to. Charles Grodin was hilarious. PLEASE let this become a reality! - How about some old school Jensen? How did Jensen Ackles (Eric) choose his career? Well, at one time he considered working in computers like his older brother. But then he decided to follow in someone else's footsteps. "My dad's done really well for himself as an actor," says Ackles [...]"He didn't have a nine-to-five routine like other fathers, so he came to my football games and spent a lot of time with me and my brother and sister." Looking back, Ackles believes that he, too, made the right choice. "I see now why my father stuck to it," he says. "It's a challenging career, but it also gives you something very valuable - time. There aren't many jobs that give you that freedom."Uhm. What a disappointment it must have been to find he has had NO free time WHATSOEVER for the past four years of his life... Haha! Poor chap. Also, I have never seen this picture of Jensen before. Well, I have seen the photo, but not in this context. As a commercial, for Nordstroms, and for acne products. Hee! He does look pretty flawless, there. Still, the things he did in his youth! He must get teased pretty regularly for all he's done as a pretty little twink. ( Non-acne Jensen. )Then again, this is how a co-star from DOOL described him: Deidre: He's my dream 19-year-old. My sons both adore him, and I couldn't be more proud if they were to grow up to be very much like him. He is bright, sensitive, talented, considerate, honorable, gracious, and kind. And I could go on!All together now: Awwww! He may have been the twinkiest of all twinks, but he was awfully loveable. ♥ Tags: jensen

I so fail at weekends; I always wake up too early, when I'd prefer to sleep a little more. Ah well. More time to write important livejournal posts. So let's talk politics and fandom (and no, that's not fandom politics, because that's far too complicated *g*). I just read this post about celebrities who are supposedly conservatives.(Before you read on, you need to understand, from a Swedish perspective, talk about gun control and abortions is mostly considered VERY extreme right here. And that I'm a human rights activist.) I already knew about Joe Flanigan's supposed donation to the Republican presidential campaign. Which: yikes. Considering his family's background, it's not very strange, even if disappointing. But I can live with this, since Joe's such a slacker and such BOY. Also, he reads NYT. :) She also claims that while Jensen might be a Democrat, he's all for guns and loves knives and whatever. Is she confusing him with Dean? And what Jensen does to practice for his part? Has he ever indicated he loves guns and doesn't believe in gun control? Have we ever heard them mention anything political at all? She claims they're probably Democrats, which is YAY, but do we really know that? (I do remember Jared's comment about George Bush, though.) And is Jensen's dad really an anti-abortion activist? Ouch. It may be slightly irrational, but for me, the only thing worse than an anti-abortion activist is a OLDER MALE anti-abortion activist. It's kind of the way I want to strangle the pope when he proclaims his views of what women should do with their bodies. Grrr! It pisses me off. (I love how it's called 'Pro-Choice', because it doesn't mean you love abortions and think everyone should have them, but that it's a woman's choice. It makes no sense to me to say, on the one hand, that the state shouldn't interfer with all the guns I want to carry, but on the other hand think it's fine for the state to tell me what to do with my body or who I can or can't marry.) Anyway, it's fascinating how different we all are. I'm all for expressing different views and discussing them, but the person who says that they can't be friends with someone who's anti-gun, I have feeling I wouldn't get along very well with. It's just so weird to me, this love of guns. Guns are aimed to kill other people (because we're NOT talking hunting here), surely no one really wants a society full of guns used to kill people. Surely, that can't be anyone's ideal? (And I'm sure this person would say that ideally, we'd have no guns, but that society today, you might NEED a gun to protect yourself. Still, I don't get how you can love guns. I do not get it.) Why be so destructive? Why not work towards something positive, instead. Damn, these things always get me so riled up. And I must say, if any of my boys would start spouting views like that, I'd run far, far away. So I suppose I'd have to accept that someone who loves guns and hates abortions and gay rights and loves the death penalty, doesn't like when THEIR favourite celebrities says something different. Still. ::sigh:: I'm guessing that's why a lot of celebrities stay away from politics. Even if I prefer that they're not afraid to express a view if they feel like it. I just think we shouldn't be so afraid. I always say my opinion, and sometimes I definitely put my foot in it, but I'd rather do that, than just be quiet. :)

Watched the pilot to Virtuality because it sounded intriguing. And it was! It had a very cute gay couple too. And now I hear it won't continue? Booooh! What's wrong with people? Just like with Kings, why don't these networks decide to make a mini-series, instead, when they're doing something maybe a little risky? Just like HBO & co does. I'd rather have 8 perfect, conclusive, episodes, than a meaningless full 22 episode season. Or worse, just an inconclusive pilot, or a half-baked half season. Fail, I say. FAIL! Anyway, I can comfort all of you how were worried about JDM's adventures in NYC. According to OTHER reports, the man himself denies having an affair with Hilarie Burton. Who IS married. Well. Jensen can breathe easy. And Jared! (Although, now, he apparently 'cares for a European woman'. Is that me? Wow. How cool.) But did he really say 'she could be my daughter'? She was born in 1982, I think he's confusing himself with John Winchester. Maybe in order to prepare to come back to SPN? ::clings to hope:: Speaking of Jared, seeing, once again, Jensen and his buddies hanging out, having fun, when do we ever see Jared with (other) friends? I can't recall ever seeing Jared out and about with friends of his. Or have I? I know there are private photos of him & Sandy and a bunch of people. And I know he has those two buddies that went with him to Australia. But it's just such a huge difference between him and Jensen. I suppose it's partly due to Jensen's friends being musicians and actors. Jared is a self-proclaimed home-buddy, after all. But still, you'd think he'd been seen sometime. Doesn't HE have any L.A. peeps? What is YOUR theory? I'm curious. Tags: jared, jdm, tv

Since I'm on the topic of JDM, anyway... Upon further research, I've found he's actually in NYC to film the movie The Resident, the one that used to be filmed in New Mexico. Doesn't mean he can't combine it with stalking, of course, but there you go. Being in NYC means bumping into a million people all over the place, it seems. He's everywhere! Also, and more gossipingly surprising is this: remember a weird note, a couple of weeks ago, about Jeff being seen in Santa Fe with Hilary Burton. I thought for sure they mixed her up with Hilary Swank. But NO! According to very reliable sources he was seen in NYC, making out with Hilary Burton! My god! That's just so weird, if true. And at 'Flying A' too. For me, that's a clothes store. But perhaps it's not in NYC? Is he trying outstage MLP with PDAs? Or is people making things up? Or was it in fact Robert Downey Jr/Javier Bardem making out with Hilary Burton? The world of these actors is very, very small. Did Chad introduce them? Does Jared know her? What? It's all very bizarre. And now Danneel's coming back to One Tree Hill, too. It's like a great big swap of ... something! Incestuous, is what it is. Tags: jdm

I need to gossip a bit about dear, dear Jeffrey Dean. See, I thought the general idea was that he was back together with Mary Louise Parker and that he kept going, whenever he had time, to wherever she was (when he's not filming or is having intense sexual escapades with Jensen, of course). And so when I just now read - on that fabulously reliable source called twitter - about a couple of people bumping into Jeff in NYC today, I thought that might be why he was there (to see MLP - not to have hot sex with Jensen. Because that would be geographically challenged at this point. On the other hand, there are always webcameras...). But THEN I discover these pictures of MLP with ANOTHER guy! Today! In NYC!! My god. Then what is Jeff doing there, one wonders? Trailing awkwardly a few steps behind, ogling the thong? Also, no WAY is that relationship gonna last; he looks like he's 24. And a little overly eager to touch her in public. Yikes. It makes me uncomfortable just looking at them. Like SHE's uncomfortable. Ouch. So, do you suppose Jeff went there to save her from the little douchebag? Or to just stalk her and then call the paparazzis? You stick to Jensen & Jared, Jeff! They're gonna love you forever, I'm sure. And they're also pretty hot. Tags: jdm

For those of you starving for new glimpses of Jensen & co, go here and watch a few videos of the man, on stage with Christian Kane in Portland. And Aldis Hodge! Woot! So cute (even if Chris hair seems to get fluffier by the hour. What is UP with that?). Hugging and singing, yay! It's been a while since we've seen Jensen & Chris together, eh? Sometimes, when you read all that fanfiction where they hang out ALL the time, it gets confusing. *g* ETA:Now there are pictures! Aww! Such darlings.(From here.) I still have a cold, btw, and am home from work. And it's still HOT. Extremely hot, in fact. It's not like anyone owns any air condition in this country, so when it's warm, it's warm EVERYwhere. Except perhaps in supermarkets. ::fans self:: In other news, Kings is still awesome. I will mourn its end. Watched The Philantropist - a show which could have been good, but seemed like a bit of a mess. Like it couldn't decide if it was lighthearted or more serious. It was jarring. And also not very credible (barefoot in the jungle? Snakebites? And how on earth did he even find his way? That was quite a substantial jungle...). Tags: jensen, tv

Still feeling the impact of MJs passing, but I'm trying to stay away from any of the negative press and focusing on the people celebrating his life. I'm currently downloading a 5 gig torrent of all of MJs videos, and I can't wait to re-watch them all over again. Unfortunately, in the middle of all this tragedy, those of us in the AI/Kradam fandom have been inundated with a lot of news/videos/interviews from the Idol tour rehearsals. This afternoon we were given a gift from the heavens that's broken through the gloom and gave me a huge grin that isn't coming off any time soon. In this clip - which I'm not cutting, because I'm going to force everyone to love them if it's the last thing I do - we hear what kinky/romantic gift Adam's fans sent to Kris for his birthday, and we find out if Adam's crush on Kris is reciprocated! (hint: IT IS) !@@!#$@#!~!!!!!!!!!!!!ERfa;a;a!!#RFGWS'f a;aahaha;_)()!!! KRIS IS SO SCREWING WITH US, BUT THAT'S OKAY, I WILL ACCEPT IT. KTHXKRIS. Oh! And we finally have all of Kradison on Twitter! And they're all dorks and use "real" in their names, just so we know it's REALly them: @therealGlambert / @KrisAllen4Real / @Allison4RealzzzBehind the cut, Kris and Adam talk about Michael Jackson, his impact on them as they grew up, and what the music world is missing now that he's gone. ( ... )Meanwhile, 4/5 of my original Sparkly boys have commented, and it was quite a surprise to see JC on Larry King last night being wonderfully eloquent. We all know he tends to ramble, but in this situation, he was spot on and as genuine as he could possibly be. I could only find this small clip, but he was on another 2 or 3 segments after this: More, and official statements after the cut. ( ... )Sigh. Boyyyyyys. I want to hug all of them/the world so hard.
